Homegrown Maters!

Mama B grew her first real red, yummy tomatoes ever! We are very proud of the pretty tomatoes, so we had to take pictures of them. They are so cute & tasted yummy too, though Mama B is not the biggest fan of eating raw tomatoes, it was still fun to try growing something of our own!

Tickle Me Elmo

Freedom received an Elmo toy from friend's of ours in a bag of goodies (hand me down clothes and such) and he loves it, and actually I think it's pretty cute too! We also recently discovered that this particular model or version of talking Elmo has some secret options to it, that you kind of have to search for to get him to demonstrate. I came across this "secret" information while googling Elmo Live and other Elmo talking/dancing/action toys. We have since figured out that there is a way to get Elmo to dance and move to music, if you put him in the position with right arm up and then tickle his belly. Freedom really enjoys cuddling his Elmo, dancing next to him, picking him up and saying "oooohhhhh", laughing with and watching Elmo roll all around, and we keep it up on a shelf and don't take it down all the time, so its novelty hasn't worn off. Freedom calls him "Melmo".

Car Seat Safety Video / Front facing or Rear facing?

This is a difficult story and video to see, but I find it very impactful and dear to my heart. It's bizarre to me that America doesn't make a stronger push for parents to keep their babies rear facing for as long as possible, when research and crash studies demonstrate how devastating the consequences of an accident with a child facing forward can be. Many car seats will accomodate babies up to 35-40lbs in the rear facing position, but parents often turn their children around just after their 1st birthday, because the law states that they can. Please, if you are the parent of an infant or new baby, consider watching this video clip and rethinking how soon you turn your baby to forward facing in their carseats, it is a matter of serious neck and spine injuries to a baby, it is a matter of life and death!
